I'm very fortunate to have a handsome hubby who made me a sewing table for my first sewing machine and then a serger table when I got a serger. The sewing table has 3 drawers full of my tools, my serger table has shelves that hold my manuals. And my stabilizer, fabric and assorted other goodies are all organized on wall shelves. Use you box with joy. I think it is a great way to organize your things.
My tools are in drawers of a piece of furniture except the ones that sit out in front of the machine. However, I do keep a fishing tackle box stocked for going to classes - scissors, bobbins, 6" rule, a pick, 5 colors of thread, etc. just the basics.
Bev, I have the same box. (well, mine is clear plastic with silver handle and clasp) It is full. Full of the things I need to take to classes and such. My "other" things are in various drawers and boxes place in and around my embroidery/computer area.
I have too much stuff so I use boxes. I find it is easier for me to find things. Tape measures I have hanging on the wall. I was lucky to get most when the shop sold them for $2 each.
All of my "extras" are in the Horn sewing cabinet drawers and in my Horn cutting table drawers and cupboards. I'm lucky to have all these drawers etc. Love Chris
I just cleaned out my mom's after being in my basement for 2 years. It was full. I told her before she had to move to the nursing home, that I get the sewing box. It took me back when she was traveling from Minnesota to Texas for winters for 26 years. She sure misses those days. But all 4 girls got her crafty talent. Thanks for bring sew basket up.
I have 2 drawers that have partitions where I keep mine, plus a couple of small plastic ex chocolate containers where I keep the small bits like sewing feet etc. Hugs
I keep my scissors on a mug tree hanging up and many odds and ends are kept in a series of jam jars that have red gingham lids. I also have a small unit with draws that holds lots of other bits. Must sound dreadfully disorganised but it isn't and it works. I do try and keep the door to my sewing room shut to keep our grandsons out as its not a safe place to play. So to end my ramblings I don't have a sewing box as such. I do have my grandmothers sewing box and two sewing tables, one my mothers and one that was a family friends. They are both decorative but not used as intended
