Martine, what a darling little dress, great project!
So adorable!!! She is going to love it that her doll matches. I did this for my nieces daughter many years ago. She was thrilled to have her doll match..
I am betting she loves this Martine. I too am back to making doll clothes. Something I haven't done in a long long time. they love having their doll dressed jut like them./Lillian
Thank you. They sure do.
She has the two dolls (a short haired one dressed like a boy and a twin long haired one as a girl) that her mother got as a St Nicholas present in 1975, with all the clothes I made then. It was quite something to get that top nicely lined, a lot more fiddly than I remembered. But their outfits are a bit outdated, so I have to sew a lot more. Her birthday is 8th of May - there some time to produce a modern wardrobe.
At the time the dolls came with a packet of patterns - I copied all of them before giving those to my daughter, so all I need to do is reshape and choose modern style and fabrics.
You are the best grandmother, your granddaughter will be thrilled!
Hugs, Lidia
Wow I am sure your granddaughter will be beaming. I remember how I loved having a dress like my mom and dolls.
A great work from a genius grandma! Thank you very much for sharing.
