tip22, your are one busy-bee embroiderer. All your stitch-outs are beautiful- and, you're not a bad photographer either.
That is a fantastic stitchout! I'm courious abouth what kind of fabric and stabilizer you used. Your thread color choices really make this cake special!
Thank you very much.
The fabric was purchased at Joann's. It is by Susan Winget. Called recipes and receipts. I hooped a layer of sticky viliene.I follow the way Sonia Showalter does it. Then, I placed 2 layers of heavy cutaway under the hoop. It is a 2oz weight. Center my fabric on top letting it stick to the viliene. When finished I trim close to the edge of the cutaway. This fabric has been washed and starched. I would rather use more stable cotton like moda. But this is what i purchased this fabric for so I am using it.
Death by Chocolate does not look sad or bad at all :-)
However, looking and sharing a slice during life-time is even much better. Looks terribly good and mouthwatering too. Thanks for sharing
Maria
The "Death" in this phrase is from the high calorie count! Americans love their chocolate in large portions.
Yummy, I mean it looks great. Well done. Now we all need to pop a bit of chocolate. hehe
Nothing nicer than a good piece of chocolate cake and this is no exception. Beautifully sewn out. Can't wait to see the finished project Therese. Love Chris
Now if only a slice of this cake would taste the same as a slice of the real thing! Beautiful Job! Think I would always be craving chocolate if I had this hanging where I could always be seeing it! Now making it for someone else that had stronger will power than I, would be a great option!
