These little cuties remind me of the the doggie I had when I was little. It was made of crocheted granny squares. Both versions are so cute and considered "shabby chic" by most of the young mothers I know. Wonderful Shower gift- just substitute felt circles for the button eyes!
I like them much but that is a lot of hard work. How did you wind up with so many small squares?/Lillian
I have loads of fabric ,since I have been quilting for 30 years ,plus lots of friends give me their left overs ,I could probably make 100s of dogs lol
Oh - they are so cute! But looks like a lot of work and fun too - Thanks for sharing - Maria
they are new to me but I think they are fabulous...fav is the black and white one.....way 2 go.
I am 60+ years old and still have my Scottie Dog from when I was a little girl. In fact I used it as my pattern for when I made them for my kids and again for grandchildren. I recently saw the pattern resurface on one of the quilting sites. They are and always will be very cute!
I love love love these. They have that retro look! :) I'm a sucker for retro!

I guess I am out of the loop but what are these cute little things?
they are called Scottie dogs pillows good as a back pillow or for children,
my little scottie dogs are proving very popular sold another 2 today ,I guess I need to sew some more
very nice, and a great way to use your left-over bits.
Does your machine mind embroidering over the seams?
no not at all Vicki , I have a janome 350e ,I try to pick designs that take no more than 30 minutes to embroider
I am able to collect lots of 2,1/2 " square because I make my quilt binding 2,1/2 " and the gusset in the dog is 2,1/2 " , so when I finish an item I cut all the left overs up ,I now have a tin full of squares
fabulous xx I love them all but the black and white one is my favourite as would suit my rooms xx
What a brilliant idea Monika, love these little doggies. I love the owl fabric and my favourite is the black and white one of course! Love Chris
I had to water 7 posts! Come one ladies don't forget to water the flowers. Love Chris
I always water the flowers - and sometimes would love to give even more than one flower!
Your patchwork Scotty dogs are adorable! My mother used to make these. One of my first sewing projects was to make one of these. I still have it 40 years later. I like to make them as baby gifts. How much do you sell them for? My mother never knew what to ask, so she let the ladies at the church bazaar price them.
My mother made a pair by request for a couple that saw them at the church bazaar. They had Scotty dogs. My mother made them in the colors they wanted and the guy paid $30 each. My mother was shocked!
What a Stunning idea to do with the scraps!!!!Well done...They beautiful!!!!
Thanks for sharing your cute Scotties. Nice idea to add a touch of emb..
Appreciate the site also..
Great creativity, what an awesome way to use up your scraps. Enjoy!!
Just love your little patch work dogs. Very cute and beautifully made.
They are really cute. Do you do patchwork on the back also? My we ask what you are selling them for?
Sharon in Florida
yes its a free pattern , but I do 2.1/2 " square rather than the 2.1/4, and yes the back is patchwork as well
Your patchwork dogs are indeed a perfect way to use up all the scraps we collect! Love them.
What delightful scottie dog pillows you've done& sounds like people are enjoying your creativeness too. I think I'd enjoy it too. If you wouldn't mind telling where did the pattern come from? Thanks for sharing your work. ~D
