Great job! I have trouble with ribbing and my last project I used fold over elastic, I really liked the way it turned out. It was a fleece sleeper. We just need to keep practicing.

I have never heard of this fold over elastic? I am going to have to look online thanks for the info. Yes the more we do the better we get. That's what I tell myself anyway lol :~)

Proud of you. That is what makes it great is learning and the accomplish ing the goal and perfecting it. I remember first thing I tried to sew in my teens and the seam ripper had me starting to hate sewing. So I would pitch my item off for a little bit come back and try again. Lol I still use a seam ripper got pretty fast with one too. Have even broke tip or two off them. Gee I think we could all write a book on our adventures with bloody fingers and learning adventures of our sewing.

I think it's cute - love the fabric. And the child is just going to enjoy it. You'll have to wait for them to become a teenager before they start to complain about the ribbing on their clothing.

You can buy a jewelry making kit with tools fairly inexpensive and if you like it you can expand from there. Sky's the limit.

Every one deserves a gold star for trying and wanting to learn new things. If it doesn't look perfect the first time, we do it again and again. That is how we learn. It will be easier the 2nd time around and I applaud your job/Lillian

How did you add your ribbing? I was taught to quarter the opening and then quarter the ribbing. This way it is distributed evenly around. I have a serger, so I always serge mine
.

This is a good tutorial for those that haven't tried ribbing before.

To quarter your opening and ribbing, fold in half, pin, then put pins together and pin the other folds. I hope that makes sense.

This is really cute...I love the fabric you used...good job.

thanks Jerri, this has brought it back to me Makes me want to give it another go. This one will fit my teddy bear just right I think lol ~hugs~

Your both welcome. Its so easy to do and gives a nice finish.
I always do a little top stitch on the front, very close to the ribbing to hold the serged edge down.

Looks good to me. Did you remember to cut the ribbing 2/3 length of the neckline? You did a very neat job of it.
