I liked how you solved your problem. I really like the fabric that you have chosen to use. It will make a fabulous quilt! I'm surprised that the seam allowance wasn't in the paper pattern. I paper pieced one of these and had no problem with the seam allowance. So now I have learned from your experience to check the paper before I stitch just in case.
Thank you so much :)
The seam allowance was there in the pattern....but I kind of forgot about it while trimming ;) But I have learnt my lesson too....and just finished making the second block without any problem :)
Wow.... You certainly don't shy away from challenge! This is a beautiful block and a challenging one to start with. I love all the ideas that folks have given you for using this. I usually make hot pads or pillow tops from my "trying something new" blocks.
Thank you so much :) for appreciating as well as the suggestion! There were many easier ones to start with...but I just loved this one when I saw it :)
This is great. Love the colours. Would not even guess it was your first attempt. Adding another just adds even more wow, we'll done
Thanks a lot all for your suggestions. ....finally fixed it :)
adding another row seemed the best option to me as a slightly bigger block isnt a problem for my purpose!
Now theres plenty of seem allowance. ...LOL :)
I am glad you tried it. I knew you would like it. Your block turned out super. Love the colors.
Thank you so much :). ...I dont think I would be able to achieve this in any other way so easily! Paper piecing made it easy and fun :)
I just went back and checked crafter2243....it was your quilt post itself which made me look into paper piecing :)
Thanks a lot dear.....credit for this goes to you!
To have seams I would make another row or make the last row larger.
Thank you for sharing and Amitiés de France
Very nice. I don't know what size you have made but I would add some strips to the sides and make a hot pad, if it's too small for that make a
coaster or you could applique it on a shirt or t-shirt. If you like the pattern make some more, join together and make you a lap quilt.
Very neat and lovely. Well worth putting in a frame. Hugs Shirley
I think your quilted square looks fun just to look at. I think I would frame it.
I would add an extra strip all the way around to "frame" it.
Thank you queenofhearts....I had thought of that but that too will take up a little in the seam!
this is great, I love it, you could always put it in a frame as is and hang on the wall !!!
Great job first try. Better short than super crooked. You can add to or cut and still will work out.
Oops you must have cut the wrong line on the final round. I would just add another round. Love your color choice and the graphic red material
Yes I did :(......actually my very first try at any kind of quilting so I am forgiven....LOL :)
well adding another line sounds like a good idea ....let me see if thats the best for me to do :) Thank you so much!
either that or add to the front & back... add a bit to the front then when making the backing make it a big bigger so as to wrap around to take up the seam in the front. Nicely done. ~hugs~
The way I would due it is to forget about the size and go back on pineapple from the edge and trim your 1/4 allowance from there.
