It's sounds like a great reason to celebrate! I hope that you had a great day.
Sounds like so much fun! One of my sons best friends from childhood just left Alaska after being a guide for a year on one of the glaciers and he told us about this celebration. I'm putting it on my wish list of things to do. (not quite old enough for the bucket list yet.) ;)
I should have put the answer with the thread! Aboriginal Day is June 21, and it is to honor all the contributions made by the First Nations people (Dene Indians and Inuit or Eskimo- no one uses that term anymore). It is wonderful- feasts, canoe races, traditional games, midnight golf and softball tournaments- so much fun!
In Western Australia the Aboriginals celebrate 'Aboriginal Week' With Sports, conserts & family gatherings
An aboriginal is an indigenous native of a country. Maybe in Canada they celebrate it. We do not celebrate it in Australia.
