Your doilies are beautiful I love them I want to make some for family & friends. Thanks for showing us
Lidia - I can't thank you enough for sharing this and the website Sueboxcreations.com. Her designs are exquisite. Although I couldn't find the Heart lace design - she has so many others that have touched my heart!!
Thanks for your kind comment and welcome to Cute Embroidery. To find the free heart design, open the site, choose Embroidery Collections & Designs from the list at the left, then click 3D Lace Swan & Speciality Lace. The design is there. Hugs, Lidia
stunning, and lots and lots of stitching!! great job
Thank you, Vicki! Stitching this doily out is easier that it seems, as you need just one colour of thread and you have to replace the bobbin thread only.
Hugs, Lidia
WOW and WOW!!! Read all the wonderful responses you have here and add mine. It is stunning. I think I have this freebie and have to find and get it in my projects to try. That folder is growing long--I don't know what more I can say but WOW!!!!
Thank you for your kind comment. If your software can do it for you, it's pretty easy, otherwise you can follow the multi-coloured picture above to combine the five heart designs together. The stitch-out is easy, just use the same thread and colour in the bobbin as well and slow down your machine.
Hugs, Lidia
What a stunning doily you've done. Wondered what type thread you'd used on it? Thanks for sharing your project along with the site info too. :~D
I have used rayon thread, in the bobbin as well.
Thanks for your comment.
Hugs, Lidia
Thank you so much for taking the time to post this color layout - it is so very helpful! Hugs!
I have just uploaded a print screen (Picture #3 above) for Shyam, Sharon and other Cuties who would like to see how my software has put together the five heart designs to create this doily.
Hugs, Lidia
Thank you so much for showing us how to put them together...appreciate your kindness, Lidia ...you have really inspired me and many of us here. Sue 's designs stitch beautifully and it is a joy to watch when it is being stitched.
Thanks again for your kindness.

Hugs.. Shyam.
So lovely......Lidia. I tried many times to get this design but could not download. I dont know why.. Hugs..Shyam.
Hi Shyam,
in order to download designs from Sue Box's site, including free designs, you should have an approved account with them. Click My Details, Create an Account or Log-In if you have an approved account. If you still have a problem, just email Sue Box's Manager and let him know. Thank you for your comment.
Hugs, Lidia
Love what you have done here! I have the design so you have given inspiration!
Hugs, Nadyne
I got the free design too...a lot of good it will do me, though. My last FSL I tried of an angel was a disaster, either me or my machine, but I have lost heart to try anymore.
Hi Toogie, "If you first don't succeed, try, try and try again". These words have helped me a few times and I'm glad that I have tried again. I'm sending you a PM.
Hugs, Lidia
Lidia...this doily is beautiful. I have a question for you. When you overlap the design using an "encore" feature what happens to the design when it wants to eliminate the overlap? Will the lace still be FSL and stay together once the stabilizer has been rinsed out? What software do you work with? I'm asking this because I have lots of Sue Box's designs and I can see many possibilities by combining them.
I use Embird to combine designs and then I use 4D Embroidery Extra to open and save the designs to my flash drive, to be able to stitch it out in my machine, as sometimes it doesn't recognise some elements. In saving the designs, 4D Extra says that is removing overlaps, but when my machine is stitching the designs out, I never notice any difference, so the design is being stitched out with overlapped areas but easily, without any problems and the doily is strong and fully FSL.
Thanks for your comment. Hugs, Lidia
Thanks for your response. First, let me apologize if this comes through twice. I submitted a response and it just disappeared on me!
I use Pfaff 5D Embroidery. Before I saved the design I unchecked "remove overlap"; however, when I "combined" the 5 motifs to make one design I still received the message that it was indeed "removing overlap". Anyway, the design has been saved and I think I'll just stitch it out...it's just thread (hehehe) and this will certainly be an interesting lesson on what my software will or will not do. Once it's done I'll let you know how it turned out. Be blessed today!
This doily is excellent very beautiful and nice great work Hugs Stella
Stunning...Stunning!!!Excelant work..Love it!!!!Well done
I have tried to download designs from sue box but I can't get into the my details page to do it. Any ideas?
In order to download designs, including freebies, you should have an approved account with them. Click My Details, Log in or create an account. In case you still are unable to download it, email the Manager.
Hugs, Lidia
When I go My Details, it says the internet cannot connect to the site and yet I can download from other sites. My account is current as I have checked and the manager doesn't know what is wrong.
I have just seen Sue Box's site, clicked My Details and the page opened quickly, without any problems. I don't know why you are unable to do the same, maybe there is something in your settings. If you are using Internet Explorer, you may try this: click the gear icon at the top right-side of the page, click Compatibility View Settings, type suebox.com, click Add and close. Then try to open the site again. Good luck!
Hugs, Lidia
It would never have occured to me to overlap a design. So you showed me a new technique today! It is a lovely stitchout and I admire how you lined everything up so well. Fabulous!
Thank you for your comment, Penny. I didn't overlap the designs manually, I let my software do the hard work and then I stitched the doily out.
Hugs, Lidia
AH! When I saw the email from Sue Box I wondered how you did it... It looks fabulous.
Hi,i went to sue box to download this free design ,but it asks me for payment details, any suggestions please .Thanks
I'm glad that you got help. Hope that you have been able to get this design.
Hugs, Lidia
Thank you, drewteach!
Hi yes i got the design thank you, appreciate the help on here..Wish every one a good day.xx
Lovely doily just got my email with the free design. Will definitely have to stitch this one up. Wonder how much thread it is going to take? hugs, Susan
Thank you, Susan. My software says 336.57m so it's about one third of a full spool, but I have used the same thread in the bobbin as well, so it could be more than that.
Hugs, Lidia
great thinking on your side and lovely design from sue box
Love it is it still free ??I never saw it there ??Can you give us all the url??Hugs
My, my...such beautiful work! You are brilliant !
Thank you, Toogie. I love doilies and when I looked at the heart shape of this beautiful design, I was curious to know if I could turn it into a doily, I tried in my software and was thrilled to see how it turned out. This is one of the brilliant designs created by Sue Box, and it's a freebie!
Hugs, Lidia
Great use of the design! I noticed they overlap slightly, did you do that in your software or when stitching them? The end-result is stunning!
Thank you, Martine. My software did the overlapping for me, It has been easy to do it in the software and easy to stitch the design out, even the overlapped areas. Hugs, Lidia
Hi Susan, as I have written above, my software has done the overlapping - accurately - and I have just stitched the doily out. Hugs, Lidia
Isn't this beautiful! You do such amazing work. Thanks for sharing. hugs Leaha
