I have the janome 350e but i am finding there are a number of designs i want to use that are too big for it. I do have the giga hoop but am finding the designs are out of alignment slightly. I also want to make some more ith hoop designs but the ones I am wanting to use won't fit easily

there is someone in my area has a janome 11000 for sale at a good (I think) price. I know this one does sewing and embroidery but I would like to know if it will do a larger area than 5 x 7 in one hooping?
Or can you recommend another brand/model I should keep my eye out for with a larger hoop area?

Thanks.

I started out with the Janome 11000SE the first year they came out with it...it was a disaster. I had to send it back to Janome 4 times in 7 months...they replaced the machine with a new one twice...still no go. My girlfriend and I bought them together on the same day from the same dealer...she had the same problem...Although Janome never said for sure, we think there was a software problem in the machine...bottom line...after 11 months of misery, I was refunded my purchase price and then I bought the BabyLock Ellisimo...best thing that ever happened!!! I would say be patient and hold out for a better machine...My Ellisimo's largest hoop is 8x12...not the biggest in the marketplace now...but love it!

Oh dear what dramas! Thanks for this info. This was why I asked here first. As the machine is used And a very good buy I wasn't sure if there may be a reason. Now that has me concerned a little as it is not always possible to find out problems on a test drive.
We don't get babylock embroidery machines here but we do get the brother ones which I heard are a sister company. I have seen a couple of those I would definitely put in my dream wish list.

sewmum....when you finish sewing side A & before starting side B are you jogging the needle over to fit in the hole on the giga hoop template???? Remember you have to make sure the needle also fits into the hole before sewing side A. If you need any help just pm me (I'm no expert but have learnt through trial & error)

Thanks. I think it may be my hooping method. I was wondering if it may be better to have a larger hoop and hoop once rather than rehooping and possibly stretching the fabric/design.

I watched two ladies using the 350e at Embroidery Club and they loved it.
I too have a 5 x 7 hoop and it is just a case of doing what will fit. :-)
Lindee G embroideries are made for a large hoop, but she also does them to fit smaller hoops with multi hoopings. Ilovethatyourmachine does combining of designs, mine can't.

Yes I love mine too. I just would like to do a few more things than mine is capable of.

I have the 11000SE and I really like it, but I am hankering after bigger hoops (and saving up.) The 11000 does 200mm square (approx 8 in) and also has an overlap hoop to do 200mm x 280mm although this doesn;t really help with ITH designs. There are lots of ITH designs for 140mm x 200mm. Almost all of the ones I have on Yoriko's site will fit.

Thanks so much. I quilt too so I am thinking larger hoops may be better for what I would like to do. I would probably use it mostly for large embroideries but have as a backup to my 6600 and 350e.
