LOVE your bags and hahaha, I do see your embroidery! Love it!
Love it Toogie! Think I will have to make one for myself! Thanks for the link!
I love, love love it toogie. book marked the site so I can go back later and get the pattern. Right now plate is pretty full with stuff I do for Women's Club (charity work) Very little time for just myself/Lillian
I can understand entirely,Lillian. This would make good Christmas gifts for the girls, and it doesn't take that much time at all, if making like the link. She didn't show any inside pockets or this stripping process.
Thanks for sharing-just downloaded this one as well as several other projects!!! Now to close down my computer and reev up my sewing machine!!
Thank you Toogie!!! I downloaded the pattern too! Hope mine turns out as pretty as yours! Great job!
love the colors you used ! it turned out great! I am off to go get the pattern!
Beautiful bags Toogie! I love the styles, fabrics and your nametag. Great job! Joyce
wow - love it! The kids will love this one. Great use of the material.
Love the colours, it is very bright and cheery. Thanks for the link for the pattern. Hugs
wow a really fun way to put it together! Thanks for sharing how you created this great bag Toogie! It is very cheerful & just what we need after our gloomy winter!~hugs~
The Janome site shows how to do the strips. It is called the Right Turn Bag, by Anna Marie Horner. That was the first bag I did like this, tag is Large Bag. The second bag using this fabric was made doing these strips, but quite a bit smaller.
You are so talented. Love the bag and the colors you chose. Arleen
Toogie - your bags are so beautiful! Love this one as well. Thanks for sharing!
Another terrific bag, Toogie.......your fabric choices are fabulous.....
Gorgeous...you are certainly the Queen Bag Lady...all of your bags are so well constructed and professional looking...and adding your label with your name...you should do this with all your bags...love this...
Toogie, all your bags are awesome! I have to get behind the sewing machine and get cracking!
Weather here has been warm and spring is early so much work outside to be done, no time to sew :(
Thank you and save the link for 'your to do list', so when the yard is done and it is too hot to get out, you'll have something to make.
Love your choice of fabrics. This is a wonderful idea to use up all those "scraps" that we save.
Lovely work and the label is even better.
Thanks..now if I can remember to sew it in-lol- My name was digitized by one of our Cuties here. Thanks Kim-Toogie
Very cute! I like this style a lot.... you have a creative eye. I've never done bags before but I may have to give this one a try.
Oh yes, please have a go at it and be sure to show us. That's why I put the link, to encourage others, so you are most welcome. This is a very easy style. What I did do however, is leave me an opening, in the side seam of my lining, for turning. I had used Pellon 809 in my main front and back, which are together, and I knew it would never go through the opening she instructed to use. I used a 22in zipper but mine came closer to the edge than hers looks. I just sewed over the zipper when attaching my tabs, being careful not to hit the stops. This is just what I did differently, and also the inside pockets.
ps-did you notice that one side of the finished bag, the strips are going up, while the reverse side they look like they are going down. Look at the 'butterfly photo, though. They were all sewed the same.
My daughter is just asking for a summer bag...never done it before. but this one seems easy to start with..; just have to look for fabric and zipper ;
Will give it a try...
thanks for the link
It is very easy, if you don't do the fabric stripping, it should go quickly. I believe in pockets too. She should like this style, my 34 year old daughter likes it.
:-) my daughter is just 19 . But she was asking for a bag to go to the beach..
The right turn bag I did the other day would be a great size for the beach. It has the link too.
I think it is Tagged as Large Bag, but if you just click on the brown word 'bag' under this picture, you should find it on that page.
I went and EDITED-the one labeled/tagged right turn bag anna marie horner is the original size of pattern. It is huge! The second bag I made with these strips is the curved top, I just made and smaller.
Thats such a pretty bag Toogie....very well made :)
Love the colours and your name tag in side!
Thanks a lot for sharing the link to the pattern!
Thanks, our librarian is also a friend of mine, and she has been wanting me to add my name to the bags. You're welcome about the link too, give it a try, very easy.
My favorite shoulder bag--this one is soooo pretty. Very professional looking job.
Wow! Great work! Thanks for posting the link for the bag.
You're welcome, give it a go. It should go quick without the stripping or any inside pockets.
Just beautiful. I always find that the lining is too big when I make bags and so when I did mine I shortened it slightly. Your bags are always gorgeous Toogie, well done. Love Chris
I do my linings like you, Chris, except this one had no bottom seam. Thanks Chris and if you're still online, read what happened tonight, while I was in the fabric shop. It's in CHAT.
