New Machine update. I've had time to play properly today. I've been very busy over the last few days and only had time to stitch out a couple of the built in designs (unremarkable) and ruin one actual project (my fault entirely for assuming I didn't need to look at the instructions for inserting a bobbin!)

So far I love:
The big hoops.
The needle threader which can cope with all threads (so far.)
The extra bobbin case that enables me to use non-Janome (ie cheap) bobbin thread.
The release mechanism for the needle plate (no fiddling with a screwdriver!)
The speed of reading a memory stick and scrolling through designs.

However, having spent years drooling over big hoops, I've had to order a small one (140mm x 180mm.) It is such a useful size!

Wow, I am surprised that the top of the line Janome machine did not come with a 5x7 hoop or the 140mm x 180mm which is just a tad bigger in the width than the standard 5x7 hoop...it is a staple for sure...

It has a 140mm square hoop and a 40mm x 100mm hoop. All other Janomes have 140mm x 200mm so I don't know why this one has to be different!

Congrats on your new baby! Have you named her yet? And yes, must have that 5x7 hoop. The larger ones are great but still use the smaller ones most often. Hugs. Nan W

I use a 4x4 more than any other size. My other size if 5x7. I am so used to the 4x4 the 5x7 seems HUGE. So glad to hear that you found a machine that you enjoy. Happy stitching. Be sure to post your projects you do with your new BABY. God bless you.

At the price of the machine is a 140cm X 180cm should have been included I would think. It is a must have size of hoop for any machine. Great to hear you are having fun exploring it and loving some of the features. I am sure you will find many more. Enjoy. I am green with envy. LOL Hugs Shirley

One should always have a smaller size to have a complete embroidery machine. There is no "one size fits all" in embroidery hoops.
I think your new embroidery machine is marvelous!

I would say that your list of loves is impressive. It's wonderful to have a machine that you love and will do all you want and more. Have a wonderful time stitching with it for many years to come.
