I canĀ“t believe it. Since yesterday we are back from our beautiful trip to South Africa and found our garden full of flowers and our old magnolia tree was in blossom. This morning (28.April) I maked the first picture and the second 3 hours later. Now we are hoping that the tree will not break.

I hope the snow doesn't damage it. At least you got to see it in its glory, for a little while and was able to take this gorgeous photo !

Wonderful Magnolia blossoms! I also had one in another garden previously. So lovely. But now our garden is too small to have all
the flowers / trees / plants I "desire". But it is so lovely to see the
pictures. Thank you for sharing - so it was not too disappointing for you
to get back home from Sunny (? now Autumn?) Southafrica

It's been cool for Newcastle today 19C and for the rest of the week the same temp with rain expected every day! I agree with Pam and would somehow prop the tree up to help the weight of it. So glad you had a great holiday Barbel. Love Chris

If you have any lengths of 2x4 that you can put from the ground up to any branches that may be in danger of getting too heavy then the support may help prevent them from breaking, It is what we have done to protect our trees when we have lived in areas that we received large amounts of snow or even ice accumulation. Hopefully you won't have any serious damage to this beautiful tree. Glad you had a wonderful trip to South Africa! And what a tease your weather is being. Pam

Oh what a beautiful tree. I hope its not affected by the snow. I have always loved magnolia trees. Snow has been forecast in some parts of the UK and it jolly cold in my bit.
