This is delightful. I love the account of the fabrics you have used. Your purse already has a great history
You know how to decorate a purse, Martine, I love it!
Hugs, Lidia
Martine, what perfect timing!I was just making comments about recycling when I read this. Beautiful. I was saying I had immortalized a massive oak tree that was torn down to make way for the widening of a local freeway. Tree dates back to before 1868 (was site of a war skirmish in this area. So much beauty, Such is life. Your purse looks perfect.
Thank you.
What a pity there was no clever solution to save that tree - the oldies are often so beautiful!
I love the fact that you "reused" so many parts to this adorable purse!! And, it looks like you can add a chain to it!! Hugs, Laura*
This turned out great. Awesome when little left over materials become something pretty
Thank you. I am attacking my bags and boxes with "I'll use that sometime" articles but it is an uphill struggle. So many nice pieces, I would be wise to do some series to see a dent in the stock of fabric!
I love those decorative stitches. They go great with the lace. This is a very pretty purse for a prom if it is big enough or a beautiful coin purse. I guess your machine knew you needed to play for a while, but I'm glad you got it back in working order.
Thank you, it is big enough. And when you look you can see 2 small thingies/eyelets where you can attach a chain or a cord to make a handle.
Beautiful!! I have yet to try doing this. Yours looks very professional. Great job!
Great job, Martine...hope you machine is back up and running...
Very nicely done - just right for change. Great colors :)
I love it. It's very eclectic with the antique lace and the "new" lime green.
Thank you. The lace, some 10" long, came from my mother's stash. She used it for a skirt for my daughter when she was about 8 and she will be 44 in September.
I reckon it looks fabulous Martine. I love the lace with those delicate stitches. Not a fan of green but it sure makes the purse pop! Love Chris
Thank you, Chris. I am usually a blue person but bought the frame to go with my GD's dress, needed one only but as I bought it only I decided to get more than one. In fact, I ordered six :), green, blue and pink, two each. I hope they'll make nice gifts
It is lovely. The lace and decorative stitches give it a bit of a retro look, and the green knobs make it very fun and youthful. Well done. Hope your embroidery machine goes back to work soon!
Thank you. Don't know how useful it will be, but it was fun making it.
I got my machine back on track. Not too soon as I have an order for 20 towels and 20 guest towels. Don't know how many times I switched it off and restarted. So now I don't dare switch it off as the problem occurs when I start it up. Once I got it going it worked beautifully as ever.
That is so effective, and an excellent use of those stitches.
I used to make stitched borders with or without lace, and repeat a "recipe" on yokes of child's dresses, but once machine embroidery took over I forgot how much creative fun it is to play with those stitches.
Mops, what a pretty little purse! The lace and the fancy stitches look great, You are one clever lady!
