Put sewing phrases into Google or similar then you will have a vast choice.
I really want something original if I can. Sometimes I wish I was a poet, I feel I have it in me, just can't get it out.

"A stitch in time saves nine" was a reminder to repair a small hole, rip or tear before it became a big hole etc. Very good advice when it was a knitted item. It might go with the sewing lady.
Not so easy to find fitting expressions for the buttons and ironing designs!
How about general sewing creating. I am making this for my future grandchild in case I am not around. I is important to me. Thanks for the post. I like "if it rips stitch it quick" better even if it doesn't rhyme.
I'm short on proverbs - a lot of wisdom from my grandmas but all of it in Dutch :)
