Hi tthere all! Yesterday I tried embroidering on foam sheet :) worked fine but I used a simple design just coz I wasnt sure how would it be working with the foam piece!

Then I used that square to make a pin cushion ....stuffed it with polyester filling and whip stitched it! (I messed up the edges a little trying to stick them using glue....lol :)....then finally had to hand sew it)
just a trial for now but ideas are coming to my mind to use this :)
Thanks for looking!

This is just lovely. So very clever of you. I had not heard of stitching on foam, so would love to try it. Was your foam piece in this example brown, and I am seeing different color machine embroidery stitching on it? Just trying to still understand and visualize how this was done. Thankyou, Sharon

Thanks a lot Sharon :)
Here I used a piece of black craft foam....hooped some tearaway stabilizer and just lightly glued the foam on it!
Trimmed it further after embroidery! Hope it is clearer now :)

Lovely pin cushion and design. Did you embroider directly on the foam, or over a piece of fabric. Does the foam come in different colors?

Oh yes assorted colours like felt! I have some precut pieces as well as sheets! I directly embroidered on the foam piece which I glued on hooped tear away stabilizer( used just regular glue stick but not too much) hope its clear to you! Thank you! :)

Hi & thanks for the info,
Just wondering.... is this the foam you can buy from craft stores that people use to make cutouts for things like scrap booking, etc.?
If it is, yes I would have my brain ticking over what else I could do with it.
Thank You for sharing,
Cheers,
Reggie

Yes this is the ordinary foam sheets we can easily get at the craft store! Whenever I am out now I always keep a look out for stuff I can use with embroidery :)
There is surely a lot we can do!
