hi I need a some advice on downloaded designs.I used to use a singer future embroidery machine you had to link it up to a laptop I downloaded designes has no problem unzipping files and sending them to embroidery machine.i have now a janome memory craft 9

My new machine came a few days ago janome memory craft 9900 really pleased with this machine,need to find a good embroidery thread as I plan doing a lot of embroidery,been browsing this site some really nice embroidery designs.
i have been using a dog design to embroider a few things which has worked out ok,but can anyone tell me about embroidering on towels which backing to use as the design is not very clear.i think i read somewhere about a clear stabilizer that you use on top
