I tried "mylar" from the dollar store... Disaster. It tears and when you are finished with the design the stuff pops out of the holes leaving holes. So just letting you know there is a difference in sewing mylar and the stuff you buy at the dollar store

Hi I played with Mylar yesterday and it looks so nice. I was wondering if there is any difference between sewing mylar and the mylar you buy for doing up baskets? It feels the same to me weight wise. Any suggestions? Can you put it in to washer and dryer?
