I've been playing with the 12wt cotton threads I bought at the Sewing For Pleasure show. They give a really nice, hand-stitched look. This is stitched on an even weave fabric which I then appliqued onto denim to make the cushion cover.

Some hand cross stitch. The family tree is for my family. I started with my grandparents in the roots, then my parents in the trunk, then the other layers work up to the great grandchildren. There would have to be a lot of additions if I were to update

Same design - two colour ways. The one on the right is my yest stitch for the design. I'd used linen fabric so I fringed the edges and appliqued it to a denim cushion cover. (Rather bluer than the picture shows.) So I thought I'd try the design in shade
