A6 notebook cover - made in the hoop using fabrics from my music stash,
I've been fiddling with the engineering on the Cathedral Window style quilt block - hopefully to make it easier. Again I made it into a pincushion, but the second picture shows you just the finished block.
I wanted to see how this ITH quilt block would join up so I had to make enough to try.I think it has potential although the fabric I used for the central square should have been more robust. I obviously was't very careful to centre the design I used for
Wall hanging - the brief was "a sketchbook quilt with the theme of my favourite colour". (It isn't the strange shape it looks, I don't think I had the camera anything like level!) The piecing was done in the hoop along with the text, but I adde
A pincushion which didn't make the cut for the Secret Santa Swap. I wondered if it was possible to get a cathedral window effect in the hoop. It is, but by making it into a pincushion, it loses the full effect of the contrast corners. The rose is current
Evening bag. My big sister is going on a cruise and told me she was looking out for an evening bag. I knew I had black and purple satin so I doodled this design while I was away on holiday. I wanted a 3D applique flower and the purple satin screamed pansy
These are my entries for the Urban Threads colouring competition. Please look out for them in the shortlist for voting which should appear in a week or so. I forgot to say that the hoop design is coloured in with permanent markers and the zipped purse
A pair of cushions - the wine designs are from Urban Threads. We have wine made from our own grapes - quite a rarity here in England!
Birthday gift for my sister in law. They say that colouring in is the new Sudoku so this should be bang on trend! The jeans purse contains a set of fabric markers. Has anyone entered the Urban Threads colouring competition?
My J-club ladies wanted to try fringe designs, but they also like ITH items that can be completed during a club meeting. This is what I've come up with.
A bag to cheer up a friend who is having chemotherapy. I hope she doesn't notice that the greenman (from Urban Threads) isn't quite in the centre of the text (a song lyric.) There is a zipped pocket in the back of the bag. I used a leafy fancy stitch
Yet another summer top with an ITH neckline. This time I used the "delicate neckline" from Urban Threads and added the part to stitch the facing myself. The fabric is cheese cloth - recycled from a voluminous sundress rescued from the jumble (which stil
One of the new designs from Urban Threads, incorporated into my own ITH bag design. The denim and the strap are recycled but the lining is new!
This is a crazy woman taking a selfie whilst trying not to look at the camera! The hat and its decoration are made from recycled denim.
This was a floor length kaftan which is now a short one. I changed the ITH neckline I have used before for this. (I added a back neck decoration as well.) All I need now is some hot weather!
