A new addition to my fiddle buddy family. This one has a quilted section, a hidden crisp packet and an onion bag. (The red netting.) He is made in the hoop.
I've called these little chaps "fiddle buddies". After making the babies version, I couldn't resist developing the design into one suitable for dementia sufferers.
This is how I've spent my afternoon hiding from storm Doris. Design from Embroidery Library stitched on upholstery fabric. The chair one of those which has a plastic shell around the seat and back. The fabric is simply pushed into the gap between the she
Storm Doris is just revving up to full power. You can't stand up in the gusts - I just hope the power lines hold so I can keep sewing!¬
A group of 4 crazy patchwork blocks, pieced and joined in the hoop. Following Mops' comment - the second picture is what one block repeated with the same colours and rotated for each join could look like.
A new addition to my menagerie - I had a request for a dachshund stuffie, so here he is.
This is an "artist's companion". Sketch pad on the right and pockets for pencils etc on the left. It was made in the hoop. The embroidery design on the front is from Urban Threads. It has elastic to keep it closed.
This little chap is a worry keeper. The idea is that children put their worries into it at bedtime. I can think of a few adults who could do with one!
Hexagons from circles project - now finished. When I had run out of circles, I had a rectangle of patchwork which I fancied making into some kind of container. A quick wander around the house and I found it was a perfect fit for the biscuit tin. This will
A member of my Facebook group (Engineered in Stitches) asked if I could digitise something for bee keepers. The tiny, anatomically correct honey bee was a challenge, but I think I got away with it!
Meet Barnabas. The hospice I support is having a coffee morning tomorrow so I thought I'd make a raffle prize. (I needed to test stitch the design!) His limbs are attached with Kam Snaps.
Trying out a new (to me) technique. These hexagons are hand stitched starting with a circle of fabric. Basically, the side is stitched to the centre six times. I decided the back looked nicer than the front so I used a tiny button to cover the join. I wou
This is the ith quilt block I've been playing with this week.

The first picture is of two blocks, pieced, backed, quilted and joined in the hoop. A bit of digital trickery has given me two possible layouts to use. Incidentally the beautifu
I've called this design Pretty Maids (all in a row.) I've actually been fiddling around with it on and off for about 3 years, but I've finally called it finished. It is made in the hoop except for gathering the skirt pieces and the side seams.
This is Topsy. She is made in the 130 x 180 hoop, but her skirt has to be made on the sewing machine. I've tried to recreate the style of doll we used to make in the 1960's.
