This is an interesting link - good reading for all of us!
A bear for a very new baby - made from his late grandfather's shirts. (Plus the bib I made a couple of weeks ago.)
I thought I'd better report in and explain why I haven't been around much this week. My sister came to stay for a few days for some intensive sewing therapy with a job list as long as your arm! She has just gone home so I'll share some pictures of what
The left hand picture is the origami candle mat I made using the sewing machine only. The one on the right is made in the hoop with 9 sections. (Mostly because I couldn't face 12 hoopings!!) The ribbon for the bows is added as part of the design so there
Another bag made by adding die cut felt shapes to an embroidery design. This is great fun and the design will always look different. This bouquet was a request for a friend who doesn't have a big enough hoop for the wreath design.
Deep breath - now is the time to sign up for the Secret Santa Scheme for 2016.

You will need to make ONE item and send it to your Santee to arrive by 20th December. How difficult is that?

To sign up, please send an email to c
A bag for a good friend -the flowers are die cut from felt and I digitised the leafy wreath to go beneath them. The flowers are added as the last part of the design. The upholstery fabric I used to make the bag didn't play nicely with my sewing machine.
It is very unusual for me to attempt something that requires accurate cutting and stitching, but I had to have a go at this.
A couple of things to wear. Designs from Urban Threads, t-shirt from Primark, skirt made from scratch. (Denim with brown warp thread.)
An ITH bib made from shirts belonging to the late grandfather of a baby soon to be born. Probably not hugely practical (although it does have a layer of toweling inside) but good for "ceremonial occasions", I hope.
ITH Christmas angel - first draft. First digitising or sewing I've done for weeks!
Dopey moment. Was having a browse through the Urban Threads sale and I put a design I liked the look of in my basket. The lovely website told me I'd already bought it along with my order number. Aren't they great?
I bought a die cutting machine in Aldi this morning and it had this flower die with it. So to do something with the various bits of felt I had cut, I adapted one of my needlebook designs. Unfortunately the stabiliser came out of the hoop as I was adding t
A gift for a special friend. The design is from Embroidery Library and is coloured in with permanent markers and then stretched over an artists canvas.
A birthday gift for my sister's partner. For his birthday treat he went for a "Lancaster Experience" which included a taxi ride in Just Jane - a WWII Lancaster Bomber. I thought this cushion would add to his memories.
