How do you go about making lace with an added embroidery [like Marg's bunny bookmarks] Do you put some washaway stabilizer onto the lace, then do the extra embroidery? ie. monogram.

My collection of old sewing machines includes two hand-wind ones. The picture of the treadle that Sewmon posted reminds me of them. They still sew quite well. One is a Pfaff and my favourite.

While we're on the subject of needles - I mostly use 80/12 metallic for embroidery but someone gave me Schmetz Gold which are 90/14. Is this the Titanium? I have not heard about these before.

Hi all, yesterday my comment about Redwork and the Colourque craft. Please just use ordinary colouring pencils, not wax crayons. Do it on tightly woven, plain fabric,homespun, or calico.
