This is the first purse I made a little over 2 years ago. That is when I started sewing. I have never sewn anything ever. The first item I started on was a king size quilt. Which I am still working on. I hope you like it. Thank you for looking. Kim, I hope you see this post. Peg

Hi tfk, I am learning. I am teaching myself. No sewing classes. Only urging from Doctors. Finding something that has instructions and following them after a brain surgery. Thank you for you lovely comment. It means a lot.

I really like your bag. The fabric is wonderful. Your photography is even great. It showed the details very nicely. I purchased this pattern and fabric for the bag, some time ago. After seeing your bag, I'm ready to start mine. Great Job.

Wow, Peg!!! This purse if fabulous...I love all the pockets inside...I don't know who taught you to sew, but it is very hard to believe that this was your first project ever!!! I know those who have been sewing for years and years who couldn't make this...so glad you were able to share this with us...can't wait to see what else you have done!!!

Kim, THANK YOU. Without your help I would not have learned how to post. Thank you for the printable instructions. Well I am learning and teaching myself. I do not know exactly how I am doing. I can only hope I can be as good as the Cuties here. They are very impressive. Peg

Thank you. I have made several. But I forgot it is an Amy Butler Pattern. I altered the tie and made in longer so it could be a bow. Peg

I consider myself to be a fairly good seamstress but I have never tackled a bag like this. You should be extremely proud of yourself.

I like how this purse opens up like a flower! Your big bow really finishes the purse off nicely. Looks like you used a nice interfacing to stiffen the sides too. Well done!

Very different! That's one of the reasons I like it! Love the colors. I have been sewing for years and have never tried anything like this.
You are teaching yourself - great! - you will really learn as you make mistakes and have to correct them, it will stick with you.

Good luck with the nexxt project! Very impressive first one!

Thank you. Yes I am learning. Sewing then finding out not to do that again. But the seam ripper is my best friend. And sometime the scissors are my worst friend when I cut too short.

WOW WOW WOW! Peg, this is an amazing effort for someone who had never sewn before. I was like you too and for my first quilt project tackled a Queen when everyone else was doing cot size! Nothing like going in at the deep end.

I do hope your Migraines dissipate - sewing is great therapy and Loralye is a great testament to what can be done after brain surgery.

May God continue to heal and bless you. Love all the things you are doing, love Chris, Newcastle, Australia.

Chris, I am a beginner. I jump totally off the deep end usually without asking questions. It sure makes things interesting. I guess for me I am making a lot of mistakes but I am learning from them. Which is important. Thank you for your kind words. Peg

Thank you. The grommets were interesting. I was intimidated at first. But got the hang of it. Peg
