Good morning Cuties...I am very pleased today. a couple of weeks ago my DH went to Guatemala...when he was gone I had a guy come over and cut down 2 trees that were splitting and leaning towards the house...He was going to charge me $500.00 which was reasonable...they were big and there were buildings around...anyway he asked me about quilting and photo quilts...He wanted one for his Mother's Birthday...so he said maybe would could work out a deal...good for me...anyway he bought the material...did all the photo fabric pictures..all i had to do was sew and quilt (some embroidery....Today he picked it up and was pleased with it...said he was happy to call it an even swap...Thank goodness...i embroidered 8 designs that took 50 minutes to do...i think it was an even swap...I also got the remaining fabric...

SO HERE IS MY VERY FIRST PHOTO QUILT/WALL HANGING...hopefully she isn't on here...lol...

I haven't used my long arm for a couple of years. my stitch regulator is off. my friend had to come over and get it realigned for me...and help fix my boo-boos

You did a lovely job on the quilt. That was a lot of quilting. I'd say you both got good deals. Good that everyone is happy! My sister just paid $4000 to have a huge oak tree taken down close to their house and the guy got to keep the wood.

Owwww. i actually asked the secretary at our church if she knew of anyone that needed wood. one of the guys came out and actually cleaned up the wooded area in the corner pof our property. there were a few smaller trees down. He then helped cut, load. rake, burn. and clean up the area after they were done. struck a GREAT DEAL there...free labor.

I am pleased with not having to pay money out. my time doesn't really cost me that much...I enjoy doing crafts. I kept worrying that 1 tree would fall on the house while my grand daughter was here.

The wallhanging looks fantastic and I think it was a great deal. It would be more likely $5000 to have the trees cut down here -including them being insured etc.

Well done Deanna. The quilt has turned out beautifully. We've just had massive storms up here in Newcastle and the Tree loppers are in great demand! It was a great barter - but I think you got the better deal. Love Chris
