Hi there ladies! Today I want to share a few pics of some cakes I made and decorated with piped roses :)

I learnt to do these just some time back...need to practice a lot to perfect it!
The cupcakes were my very first try.....
The square cake was a 2nd attempt in which the pink icing was not cooperating :( ....
(not stiff enough for piping roses)
The chocolate cake with white roses was what I made last week....Unfortunately here too the brown icing didnt turn out stiff enough for roses or my plan was to alternate the brown and white ones! Part of the problem is the hot weather around here although I try to keep my kitchen cool while doing these :)
Well.......Thanks for looking :)

I think you are a talented and brave person to teach yourself this. The icing may not have been cooperative, but the cupcakes and cakes look wonderful.

Your GD is right....if the icing comes out perfect its very easy to decorate and the end result is beautiful!

Excellent job on the basket weave. You must be very patient. I did cake decorating professionally years ago and it's just a matter of practice.

WOW WOW WOW!!! Fatima, these are just gorgeous. I am so impressed with everything you attempt. It must be so difficult when you have such hot weather where you live. I don't make cakes much any more these days with just Trev and I in the house. If the children are coming over I like cup cakes, but I have never done such beautiful decorations. I just buy the little decorations. Your children must love coming into your kitchen and seeing these marvellous creations! Love Chris (where it's going to be only 19C today 66F here in Newcastle)

Thank you so much Chris :) love reading your feedback each time! My kids enjoy baking with me....they love eating all the goodies too! Specially my girl has a really sweet tooth. ..lol!
It is at times a little difficult in summers to work at such things.....but manageable :)
19C is a very pleasant weather for us...hahaha! :)
Right now its 29C here where as its 1 am....and its just the beginning of a very long summer!!!

they look fabulous. Have you seen the 'cupcake Roses' put onto a round foam ball. Use the bamboo skewers, stick the base of the cake on it, then place onto the styrofoam ball. The ball is placed in a planting pot, or a basket. [probably do this bit first] Can be decorated with leaves and bows etc. They look great.
