Hi there all! This bag has been on my to do list since a long time....finally its done!

I used a smaller size (3 inch squares embroidered) but followed the 22 square pattern as I didnt want the shape of the bag to change!
I used burgundy...royal blue and a light grey shade to embroider on black fabric but in the pics its looking like the patriotic theme (red, blue and white)...haha! :)
Well I like the shape of the finished bag....just the opening is a little small....maybe coz my bag is small!
I have put a small pocket inside closing it with a piece of velcro and the main section opening has a button and a loop! Used decorative stitches on the belts :)
Thanks for looking!

Wowzer! This is awesome. I imagine you had to float to do the squares and match up the corners some how? I thought it was pieced from afar. This is quite impressive.

No I didnt float.....I used 1 large piece of fabric n kept rehooping it to embroider 2 squares at a time in my 5×7 hoop!

Thank you so much Chris :)
I was planning for something simple...I mean lighter designs which would stitch up quickly but ended up with this!
In the beginning I wasnt even sure of the colour theme but then just went ahead :)

O My Goodness - you did this on a solid piece of fabric? WOW! I thought it was impressive before but now I am gobsmacked. Still going thru pages and pages of projects on site - did I miss where you got the pattern? I did see the one you made with 4 inch squares - also impressive - extremely impressive! Gorgeous work - thanks for sharing it.

Thank you so much and I am very happy you liked it! :)
It was the same plain black cotton which I have used for the lining! The designs are free to download at sewforum....I was trying to add a direct link but it isnt working!
Just google search sewforum purple blocks and hopefully you will get there easily! :)

WOW! What an amazing accomplishment! One piece of fabric! Wow.
Is there somewhere that shows the layout and construction of this bag? Or was it something you devised?
