6/10/15 The Essence of Summer Eating - DH brought home first orchard peaches of the summer and we sliced over Breyer's French Vanilla Ice Cream. Also, I've had fresh blueberries and strawberries this same week. What is the essence of summer food for you?

Picking my wild and free blueberries and putting them into muffins mmmmmm Good But your fresh strawberries sounds good to .We only get one crop a year here of both due to our cold long winter.I have read were in the south there is always a new crop lol hugs now i gotta go find something to eat ***Carolyn

I love all fresh fruit. Peaches are my fave since I grew up in the peach state of Ga. and we had peach trees. Love watermelons and cantalopes also. Nothing tastes better than 1\2 cold cantalope filled with some home churned vanilla ice cream. Yum,yum/Lillian

Did you ever salt your cantaloupe?
Yes , I used to , but no longer salt anything except with very little. I use Mrs dash for the added kick.
Yep do that also along with the watermelon.

I'm on my way!!!! Absolutely love peaches and ice cream, next best thing is a old fashion peach cobbler; or it is a peach muffin or maybe a peach cake; aw heck it's anything peachy. YUMMMMMMMMMMMM! Enjoy a bit for me, please and thank you. :)

I am waiting for the Georgia Belle, which will be a little later. I do love fresh peaches and especially peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream on top. Yum!!!

Daughter and her husband usually go to Farmers MKT and buy by the bushel when they come in . She freezes at after at and then we have them all winter with her lb cakes and whipped cream. Deliscous!!/

Over here in Australia it's when the Mangoes and stone fruit come in. I absolutely love Strawberries and have them every day of my life due to my wonderful husband always buying them for me!

Yummy! I love any fresh fruits and veggies. I especially love any that someone else makes. And Ice cream. I would choose ice cream over cake any day, Now I want some peach cobbler and ice cream!

mmmmmmmmmmmmm, you girls are making me so, so hungry! I love, love, love fresh vegetables; green beans, squash,okra, zucchini, ALL of it. Also the fruits, including cantalope and watermelon. AND I love me some hand churned home-made ice cream.

Fresh tomatoes!! I picked my first one this morning. Started to take a picture of it. Yum! I could eat them three times a day!! Peaches with juice dripping down my arm come in a very close second - or maybe a tie!!
