Thanks to Cuties, who posted the way to make a inner cap hoop, for our outer embroidery hoops. I was able to make this for Nora. It is a childs size cap from Walmart, about $4.-EDITED-I added a link to this post that originated in Community. If you read the comments posted, it gives you places to look how to make your own hat/cap hoop.

I will add the link to the page here but I will have to edit my top post to add it there. I am afraid when I clicked on 'add comment' here,it did not show an 'add link'.

Just wonderful - one day I have to figure out how to do that!!

It's not hard. I should have posted my clipboard, hubby made. I guess because this hat was so small, the clip didn't want to hold the bill, even though the clip seemed strong. I also had pinned it to my stabilizer, so that saved it. I think I would like the one made with the wing nuts but don't know if I can get him to make that one, too.-lol

Hubby finally made the hoop but I was anxious to try it. I am pleased and will try a larger one in it to see if it holds better.

I do want to try a larger one, but am sewing for Nora. Avery will have surgery right before Nora's birthday, so I don't know if the party will have to be before or after surgery. I am making some clothes for her and I don't know what else. No quilt this year, for sure-lol
