Hi Cuties, I have a little time now and I wanted to tell you something. My daughter used to have a little boy, as one of her physical therapy patients, when she worked at another place giving just Pediatric therapy. Anyway, my daughter would bring Avery to work with her for therapy, and after I got back from my bus morning route, we would drive the hour drive, to go pick Avery up and bring her home with us. While we would be in the waiting area other patients would come and go. Well, this little boy could not walk, but he took a liking to my husband. He would hop on his knees across the waiting room, to my husband. As he was fast, his mom would try to get to him before he reached us, always apologizing. My husband told her to not stop him, he wasn't bothering us, to let him come. My daughter hasn't worked at this clinic for a few years, but this little boys mom remembered Avery and called my daughter. She wanted to know if Avery had a medical bed. Ashley told her no. The lady said if she needed one, she thought of Avery. She said, for reasons I won't disclose, they wouldn't be able to use it for the little boy. Ashley asked her how much she wanted for it and when they could go pick it up. The lady said, no charge and she could come that day, if she wanted too. Ashley said when someone gives you something you never know what to expect, but a lot of times, its something not worth bringing home. Well, not so in this case! The bed is brand new! I am attaching a link (I hope this is okay, after I hunt and peck, to type-lol) to show you a similar if not exact bed. After they were there she also asked if Avery had a stander. My daughter told her Avery had outgrown hers and she was able to stand at school (the school had ordered one for her) but not at home. The lady said her son had also outgrown his, he is taller than Avery, so she gave Avery a stander too! God is so good, to lay Avery's memory, on this woman's heart! Here is a photo of her in the stander, Ashley is in PJ's-lol- but I just had to show and tell !!!! ... this is also the living area, of the new house, I never did post the photos of. I went yesterday to see Avery's bed, had my camera, and do you think I thought of taking photos? NO- I was thinking before I saw the bed, how except for Avery medical pole in the corner by the head of her bed, her room looked like a 'normal' little girls room, so pretty and pink. The bed doesn't look too bad as it is made of wood, not the typical, hospital bed look. I will eventually take photos and show you her room, I promise! Anyway, doesn't this prove that there are still good people in this old world?.. I apologize for the long story, but I thought it needed to be told-Toogie

It is not only that there are good people in the wold, it is also when you do yourself good things, somehow you get back this one day. We all need to keep such moments in mind. Usually the bad things always get first attention. And we need to let the sun shine as much as possible.

The lady always thought, how pretty Avery was and appreciated how kind her grandparents were, to her little boy.
by heleninca 06 Jul 2015
You just never know what a kindness will bring. The little boy knew your DH was kind and maybe his Grandpa was not near. I love that you keep us updated. I am to curious - I want to know beyond the last page in the book and you let us.

I really don't think, from talking to the lady in the waiting area, there is a man in their life. I think the daddy is not in the picture, but I'm not sure about the g-pa.

How wonderful Toogie. What a wonderful gesture on that lady's part and I can't wait to see the new bed. A great gift also with the stander and yes, you are right there are such nice people in the world who can give from their hearts. Love Chris

Yes Chris, it reinforces your faith in mankind. If I can remember to bring my camera AND use it (lol) I do want you to see Avery's room, bed, and their house. It is so spacious, just what they needed. I can't get over all the drawers in the kitchen!!! A cousin went the other day, he lives about an hour 15 min away. He said he could just live in the kitchen and back patio. He loved the island and so do I. A good place to cut fabric-lol

When Avery was placed in the bed, they turned it on and raised her head (that will help with her reflux too!). They said she giggled and giggled, so evidently she liked her bed.

Yes, we are all overjoyed, thankful and praising God, for letting our paths cross and this blessing. We always have so much to be thankful for ! (My hubby is doing so much better, thank you and your prayers. That first night, it took him about 20-30 min to walk down the hall to the bedroom, stayed about that long or less in bed, then that long to walk back to the living room. He was miserable and in so much pain. He is so much better. Another thing we are thankful for! I hope you sing the rest of the day!-Toogie

Yeah! I am so glad to hear the this vital equipment will not go to waste and the way life works is totally amazing. Avery needs things to make life better for everyone and thankfully this round met some of those expectations. I bet you were not thinking about new, just getting by with what you had. God bless the little boy and his Mom. I just looked at the price of the bed! Wowzer!

I wondered if anyone looked at the link. Yes, all medical equipment seems so over priced. My husband says it's because they know you NEED it. Thank goodness her chair will be good for a little longer. She isn't growing wide, but long/tall and I don't think it can be adjusted anymore from the knee to the foot, or the hip to the knee.

Sarah,I just love my grandchildren, just like any of you do, and I'm sure you would do whatever it takes, in the same circumstance. It is nice to be appreciated, though, so thank you. It is so wonderful indeed that Avery received this gift. It came just at the right time as well. Her surgery is scheduled for the 21st.

Sure glad I'm not going anywhere today or my makeup would be running all over my face! Yeah, I'm a cry baby. But God IS so good to provide our needs!!! If I were a betting woman, I bet Toogie makes that little boy a special pillowcase or something! Thank you for sharing. I think we all think of Avery as sort of ours too!

Now you make me weepy. It is so good to know, Avery has so many guardians, watching over her. Her Gram sure does appreciate all of you, too..... You know, I think a pillowcase is the least I could do. I will have to find out what he likes, and hope I can find a design for him. Also, the mom could most likely use a new purse, don't you think? I know they live a town over, but I may just have to find out where they live, if my daughter can't deliver. Thank you for the pillowcase idea, my mind is in slow mode, it's been so much happening here.

Bless you, Toogie. You are a jewel. I sure do think that mom would love a new purse...and I've seen some of yours & they are great!!!
