I am looking for some sheer fabric it shaded from a dark color to a gradual lighter color in same color family. but not sure what to call it or where to begin looking, does anyone know where I can find this kind of fabric ? I have seen it made in to garment in the stores.

I think you mean "ombre". I just did a google image search for "ombre fabric" and there are some beauties.

I was able to get some about 6-8 months ago at Hancock Fabrics. I found it in with the fabric to make scarves.

It is called a gradient. I have been looking for years for them. If you find them they will probably be in the batik area. Nancy Zeiman did a series on using gradients and for a while she had them available on her site.

I bought some a few years back that were light gray to black and made some scarves. However the fabric did not drape well. Kay

I saw some skirts made from this fabric in Stein mart and I liked all the colors.

I have a gradient chiffon/polyester fabric top in browns/tans/creams. It looks fabulous - except I don't wear it anymore as my hair is grey and I don't like brown. When I was a brunette it looked fabulous. Type in Gradient Chiffon fabrics in Google and click on IMAGES there are hundreds of fabrics. Love Chris
