Shabby Chic Pinwheel Baby Quilt & Matching Elephant -that I made for a special girl that I watched grow up in to a beautiful wife and mother. I used the satin binding because when she was little she used to rub together anything satin to go to sleep. I used the scraps and sewed them together to cut out the pattern for the elephant (http://birchfabrics.blogspot.com/2013/07/free-pattern-tutorial-henry-helga.html)

What a beautiful, thoughtful and loving gift. The colors are so soft restful. Your memories of the young mother as a child will mean so much to her when she receives this gift. It is the small things in life such as how you remembered that she would "rub together anything satin to go to sleep" will surely tug her heart strings. A beautiful blanket and sweet little elephant.
