The world mourns Cecil the lion who was allegedly killed in Zimbabwe by a monster, a coward..a dentist in Minnesota...I am ashamed that he is a citizen of the USA...there is NO JUSTIFICATION FOR THIS ACTION AT ALL...I have no words...

I was so saddened to hear of this, such a beautiful animal & to be killed in this manner is dreadful. I'm not a goody two shoes but I really dislike hunting animals of any kind for sport. Just my 2 cents worth.

Kim, I too was devastated to read this in the Sydney Telegraph today. I cannot understand why this is allowed. As an animal lover I'm against all animals being hunted for sport. I pray that Africa will take notice of how the world has reacted to this tragedy. Love Chris

it's very sad, such a beautiful animal. They say the man payed 50.00 Euro to hunt the lion. It's awful , such a unscrupulous action, and so unfair to hunt the animals just for a trophy, Hope they have learned from it and other animals will be safe for these hunters....

I am saddened at this act of cruelty also. He had to have suffered for some time with the arrow before they finished him off.

I can only pray that something good comes from this and that Africa will change the laws to stop this senseless murder of God's creatures. I can't even write what I think of this coward.

There are no words for this cowardly act. I just pray he is punished in every possible way. On the news tonight there were several protesters at his dental office I hope he loses all his patients. It makes me sick to know people can just kill a beautiful animal just because they want to.

Lets hope something can be done to stop this man from ever doing it again. It is not enough just for his guides to be charged he must be too. Maybe they need to hit him in his hip pocket and fine him a million dollars and give it to the Animal reserve for more security. And definitely not let him keep his trophy.

I was so upset with this idiots actions. He and the guides should spend time in jail for this.. He is in hiding the coward. Come out and face the wrath! I agree he should be fined to the hilt and pay the reserve to keep people like him out. There is no excuse to hunt or kill any animal. They are all Gods creatures. it saddens me a beautiful animal was destroyed for nothing. Suzanne

Zimbabwe wants him extridited. He will never get there. But he won't be able to "live' here either. The outcry against him should remain in the forefront. He is a coward. He didn't even have to "hunt" for poor Cecil. The lion was lured. So he is not hunter. A real hunter goes in search. I do not hunt, but I have friends who enjoy the season. It is always a challenge and they are not always successful. Anyway, I cannot stand what this so-called man did

I am so pleased that this abomination has reached world wide press. Living in South Africa I am totally ashamed that canned hunting exists as it does. Unfortunately this will not be the last. It is mans greed that kills our beautiful animals. The poaching of rhino still continues on a daily basis. My heart aches. Thank you Kim for this post.

this sort of thing will carry on as long as other crountries money is greater than theirs. the usual get rich quick stories. we see with the rhinos they always find a way.its the never ending story, i live right next to the kruger park and often have smallgame walk around other homes. and even they are not safe from this type of devil.
