Please tell me, at least one time in your life, you had one of those, "Now why did I do that?" moments. PLEASE---- My punishment today was trying to clean all this lint/fuzz off of Avery's navy blue skort, after I washed it with a 2 year old blanket that Nora drags around. I know better than this, but Avery had wet through her skort, and Nora dropped her blanket in the dust, before she got in the house. I just finished my washing and Nora couldn't do without the blanket, or so she thinks. That blanket has been washed over and over, but still keeps shedding. I vacuumed for 1 1/2 hours, thinking all the while, I should just go buy another skort. Yes, not cleaning lint just off a skirt but a shorts too! Look at this mess. Last photo is best I can do.Thing is, I knew better than that! At times, I think I'm losing it. I may do something stupid again, but I bet it won't be trying to NOT wash two loads of wash, with one item in each load! ...I knew better than that...I'll let you laugh today...tomorrow I will, but not now.

My second sewing project ever (eighth grade) I made a zip front jumpsuit My mom measured on the pattern and said I needed to lengthen the pattern (big tummy, big hips, nothing changes). So I spread it one inch, as she said and cut out pieces. At the machine I got about 3 steps into the stitching and I had crotches swaying out to the sides. No matter how I imagined, I couldn't make sense of it, so I had to call in for help. I had flipped the pieces as I spread them. It never works to have armholes and crotches on the same side of the garment! She did a save with a tiny waistband French seam.

Been there and done that. Once years ago or eons ago I was ill, my husband decided he should do a load of laundry. It was a light coloured load, but he thought it wouldn't hurt to add my daughter's red hoodie. You all ready know what happen.Everything came out pink. He hasn't do any wash since, thank heavens. You have done a great vacuum job.

You have made me think back to when my oldest daughter and I came home from the hospital. She was a day old, not even 24 hours and my husband got us settled in. Me in my bed and her in the baby bed. Then he comes in to ask," how much BLEACH do you put in the colored clothes." I had stitches, but you never saw me move so fast!-lol

I can't tell you the number of times I'm done something like this. I've learned to wash all dark items inside out and it isn't so bad if it happens. Hopefully you can get some rest and things will look better tomorrow! hugs

Leaha, look at the inside of the skirt in photo #1..it is inside out!-lol-lol-I had to vacuum the outside, the inside, in pockets and seams!!!! I do feel better already, thanks to you 3 gals!

I hope I never do this again! If it were mine, that blanket would be trashed, and I don't throw good things away usually. But this gets lint on everything. She just loves it but I wonder how good it is for her to have. I'm sure she is breathing that in.

We never use tissues - if you use kitchen roll instead, it doesn't disintegrate in the wash. You could iron it and use it again! It is also softer than most tissues.

Yes I guess we all had once pink laundry in our lives.. I even washed a wollen jacket on a too high temperature... I got a baby size... Nowadays I always have a "rescue set" clise to my machine. If your landry comes out in a difference color, you need to wash it again with this special bag and it takes almost all of the bad colors away.

We have all done something silly in our day, mine is tissues, always seem to be in a dark load only for some reason. A vacuum cleaner job it takes for ever and a few extra washings. Hope you got my thank you for the ants much appreciated. Sandra.

Glad you found them with the link I gave, sometimes my links don't work-My husband used to take paper towels folded in his pocket, when he went deer hunting. I have washed those before, but nothing like the mess this made.I am sure tissues make a mess theirself.

Ouch - it could have been easier to buy a new one. For future reference, Duct tape is great for removing all kinds of lint.

Duck tape fixes almost everything!
I have used duct tape before.It would have cost as much as the skort, I would have had to use so much, and then it may not have done any good. I had to pull it taut on my ironing board and run the nozzle of my vacuum back and forth. It didn't come off easily. My hands were hurting and I had to take a muscle relaxer last night for spasms. I SHOULD have bought another skort, would have been much easier.

Oh, my goodness! You must have the patience of Job (as my great aunt used to say!). Once, I washed a new pair of dark grey sweatpants with dress socks, not a pretty sight afterwards :( You really did a great job and keep spendlove's comment in mind in case their is a next time. Duct tape really makes the job easier.

Great job cleaning the lint off. I think lint turns to glue when it gets on something you don't want it on. Same with animal hair, especially on dark fabrics.

I had to rub and rub my nozzle back and forth to try to loosen and suck it up...talk about a job..my hands would hurt and I'd have to stop a minute, then try again.

I use Press n'Seal by Glad to take lint and hair off. Just cut a sheet of it and press onto surface. It works great. I use it on my ironing board to clean my cat's fur off of it and also place a sheet of it on a piece of clothing when I travel. I always have it ready to clean off lint etc.

Never heard of Press n Seal. Do you buy it at the fabric or grocery store?
It's at the grocery store where the foils and plastic wraps are. I have some and love it. It is made by Glad and comes in a yellow box just like regular plastic wrap, etc. I have never used it like n2sewin described so I don't know how well that works.
So Nancy is it like a cling wrap?

When that happens to me, I throw the item back in the machine and do another load with full water for the one item. I wash and drain it several times before I let it rinse and finish. Then if it can go in the dryer, in it goes. Then I will attack the item with sticky tape wrapped around my hand with the sticky side out and brush the offending item.
Happens with my husband's black clothes all the time. And usually my fault because I left a tissue or something in my pants pocket. For some reason, some tissues make as much mess as on that skort.

My goodness, I miss a tissue in my pocket at least once a week! You'd think I'd check better! I once thought I was being so smart by washing all these hand towels together (all fairly light color) & drying them to emb. on them. BAD choice! I picked multicolored terry cloth fuss off all the towels for months!

I use a fine sandpaper taped to a piece of wood it removes pilling on clothing as well as mishaps with tissues. It brings new life to favourites. Even a damp face cloth or washer will also do the job.
