It's that time of year again....... As a rule I will make sauces for beef & pasta & maybe 3-4 jars of soups.... last years home made soup was so good hubs has asked that I only make soup this year. So this is my first batch of the season & as you can see I have many more vegetables so another batch will be in the making shortly lol. Many of the ingredients come from our vegetable garden including (my first time) the garlic & herbs

Soups are such a wonderful food in the winter. Even better when you have cooked it yourself. Good job

So talented to make all of these goodies. I love soup and I make a lot each winter with my Soupmate - best thing I've bought. It makes a wholesome soup in 25 minutes! Your vegies look great by the way Loralye, love Chris

I have the Vita-Mix & it makes life so much easier to do all of this. I can't do any of this with out hubs as I am not strong enough to do the jars & the Vita-Mix helps make it possible for me. I have learned new ways to do things that used to be easy & now are not & I have to @least try......sometimes it works out & other times it doesn't but @least I know I gave it a shot. ~Thanks Chris hugs Loralye~

I think I need to look for a recipe for tomato soup, as I have only made sauce. You you care to share your recipe?

I add this & that & whatever I can from the gardens bounty....zucchini, celery, carrots, onions, peppers, 4 different kinds of tomatoes garlic, & herbs like oregano basil parsley all of the things I have in my garden. It is never the same recipe as I use whatever I have on hand & I used a can of Brown Beans that I run through the processor to thicken without paste

I hope that this helps you a wee bit

Sounds just like my sauce! I call it kitchen soup sauce, because I put everything in expect the kitchen sink! I like the processed bean idea. I am going to try it ! Thanks.

These tomatoes are so pretty. They look like "Better Boy" It gets so hot here in Georgia that mime are almost burned up; however the grape tomatoes did well this year. I got rid of all my canning equipment years ago as I could no longer lift it. I used to work with a girl that told me her Mother and sisters all got together with the bounties from their gardens and canned all day and divided them up equally. She made soup and I tasted her Mom's recipe and it was so good. Now , I wish I had gotten her recipe. Kay

This picture is making my mouth water! Such wonderful bounty from your garden. It's been so hot down here in North Florida that nothing did well in my garden this year or last. And there is simply no substitute for fresh tomatoes, peppers, cukes and zukes! Your home will be filled with a wonderful aroma as you can and freeze... and through the winter you will be rewarded over and over!

Thank you Sharon I enjoy growing our own fresh produce & then eating it throughout the winter months lol. You have the sunshine throughout the year so maybe you have a longer growing period? Or maybe a different time as I think your summer time is really really hot? You can come by for lunch anytime. ~hugs~
