Hi gals,

I had a great day sewing, cleaning, vacuuming, washing and cooking today. As it is the first day of Spring next Tuesday I felt like a Spring Clean. I had a ball going through all my sewing cabinets etc. and have still to go through the wardrobes at the back of my room. Look how neat it is - not always like this when I'm sewing as I have fabric everywhere. The sewing cabinet is where I cut out and I am lucky to just pull the front up and cut out on it. Love Chris

2. Right hand side of my sewing room.
3. Left hand side of my room.

Hi Kim, It's easy to keep this room clean as I've got the rubbish bin under my machine, wooden floors and a floor rug which is easy to vacuum. I'm for hire!!! Love Chris

Wow nice job!! Mine needs to be picked up and cleaned. I have not had time with 32 cats and kittens. The last 6 kittens are going home next week and then I will have free time. At that point I will only have 6 adults to care for easy!! Then I can get back to my play room. ! Suzanne

Thanks Suzanne, no wonder you haven't had time with all those cats. We are looking forward to Spring here next week, whilst you guys will be looking forward to Autumn/Fall and then you can sew to your hearts content. Love Chris

Well done - now you can start on those Summer projects for all your little ones, and finish the rest of your lady's luncheon items. It's such a joy to be creative in a tidy workspace. Too bad mine never stays that way for very long.

Thanks so much - I want to make some summer dresses for the girls and maybe a couple of small things for the ladies. It's easy to keep this space clean. Love Chris

Thanks so much Marfa (it's the old Master bedroom) Amy and Steve had this room when they lived with us. They came back from England and ended up staying with us for nearly 18 months! Love Chris

Thanks Kathy, that little cabinet is great. I have all my fabrics in colour order and the drawers underneath are full of the whole range of Metro Threads. I bought them and asked a wonderful Cutie in America if I could use her address to have them sent to her. I then organised via Paypal payment for all the boxes to be sent to me here in Australia. I love the Metro threads and they are 5000metres! Love Chris

Oh my, this is great!! And, you had fun doing it??? I need you at my house - my craft room looks like a fabric explosion went off!! If I get my DH to help me with it - I will have to listen to him complain and sigh and make noises about how much fabric I have. I am in desperate need of help though - I am beginning to lose things - LOL!! Hugs, Laura*

Hi Laura, I gave away a huge amount earlier this year at The Newcastle Sewing Guild and then the left overs I took to my local Op Shop. I now just have fabrics in the plastic baskets and some out in the back room in my floor to ceiling cupboard (don't tell my husband though, will you! he he he!) I'll be over in a flash to help you reorganise it! I wish!!! Love Chris

Ha, ha, ha! I know what you mean - I shut my door sometimes when I'm babysitting Ophelie and Delphi if I'm in the middle of sewing something. Love Chris

Trev bought it for me at one of our local shopping centres here in Newcastle. Over near Westfield Shopping Centre at Kotara. It's in the Industrial estate and is the first shop on the left, it's just a furniture shop - he doesn't remember the name of it. I'm sure IKEA or somewhere like that would sell something similar. It comes in two parts - the top section houses the cubby boxes and the base is the 2 box and 4 drawer section. Love Chris

Wow since I am in the states and not Australia guess it is off limits to me...looked at IKEA and never found it but thanks

Wow Chris great job :)
You are so lucky.... like many others here to have a whole room as your very own sewing territory ;)
I am still eagerly waiting for an opportunity like that!

Thanks Fatima, yes, I'm lucky as there is only Trev and me at home and we have a 4 bedroom home. Three bedrooms upstairs including this one I'm in - my sewing room (which was the old master bedroom). The other 2 up here are Trev's office and the spare room is is where Ophelie and Delphi stay when we babysit them. Our bedroom is downstairs underneath our back entertaining room. Love Chris

I love your tidy sewing room. I am in the middle of trying to reorganize mine at the moment. Big job and Hubby has helped me move and rearrange sewing desks. I have bought a new cupboard which we had to put together. Now to sort things and try to get some order in the room. I most likely will not be able to find things when it as all done. lol. Hugs Shirley

Good for you Shirley. Our cubby box cupboard was all in pieces too. Amy and I put it together. It's wonderful and you can see everything straight away. Once you have everything sorted you WILL be able to find things. You can do it! Love Chris

Oh! no I didn't mean to do that - it's only that I wanted to clean the windows! And that started me off moving furniture, vacuuming the little dust bunnies that got under the sewing machines when they were on the far right wall. I like having them under the window much better as I can see everyone walking past - the only thing is it faces West and in the summer it's a stinker. We have awnings across the front of the 3 windows so that's a blessing. Love Chris
