My SIL has taken us for a week end in the bush. It was wonderful to be so close to some of the bucks that came right up to our chalet. Ben and Georgie have had a wonderful time.

Are these Nyala deer Sarah? If so, they are beautiful. I see Charlotte is feeding them - is it like a petting Zoo? No wonder the children had a great time. And I can't get over the size of those thorns on the tree in the Giraffe's enclosure! Love Chris

You are absolutely correct Chris. The Nylala were right outside the chalet. We had to keep the door closed or they would have been in!! There was a place where they hold animals until they are ready to be released into the wild.

What fun! These are the times that wonderful memories are made.
The giraffe have stripped all of the leaves off of those poor trees. With Spring coming on, they should have a feast if they haven't devoured the buds.

There were two in an enclosure, they will be released into the wild when they are older

What an incredible experience for Ben and Georgie. I hope conservation efforts win and Africa is the place to go visit the animals. Maybe one of them will help in that effort. Scientists, Veterinarians, Activists are some of the folks I have come to respect and their efforts to save wildlife.
