Hi Cuties,
My cat today is reading up on his spelling words - because -
I spent the morning at the Regional Spelling Bee for Newcastle Primary Schools. Ryke (Dana's son) and another boy from their school were the 2 chosen from Years 3&4 to represent their school. Unfortunately Ryke got ousted in the second round. The other lad got knocked out in Round 6. It was fun and in the end a young lad won from Redhead Primary School (which is just down near our local beach - 5 mins away) and will represent Newcastle down in Sydney for the State finals.

P.S. This cat is the spitting image of our Bonnie - been gone 15 years now.

I think it's an honor in itself to just be chosen to participate and represent their schools. Congratulations on smart G. Children. Love the cat, we too, years ago had one like this and his name was Satin./Lillian

Thanks Miss Lillian, yes, we are super proud of Ryke, he is a very bright little boy. We named Bonnie Ebony, but the kids had difficulty when they were little, so we shortened it to Bonnie. Love Chris

Yes, it was a proud moment for me. I'm a real English nut. Love Crosswords, Cryptic, Jumbled words etc. It's been all over the news here this morning. Fergus who won his section of the Spelling Bee did a great job only being in Grade 4, ( the boy from the Redhead Public School) but of course it depended on the luck of the draw. Some kids got quite difficult words and some not so difficult. Love Chris

Yes, it was an honour for Ryke to make it. Now the 2 children who won from here in Newcastle will go to Sydney and they will try for the State titles. Once they are all over then it will be the National title. It was great to see the concentration on their little faces. Love Chris
