I keep forgetting to look at these Community tab categories. Here is a picture of the little ribbon rose shirt I finished for my great-granddaughter.

This is very interesting. How much ribbon did it take?

It was a 7/8 inch wide roll of 12 ft. Pink Sheer. I used the entire roll, sewing a basting stitch through the center so I could gather it slightly. I had 3 green prairie point leaves in which I pinched and stitched tightly together, pinned them in place and just kept going round and round. Shirt is size 18 months.
Amazing and a lot of work

Hi peafarm, Thankyou for sharing this darling little top. What a clever idea you have here, I read how you went in a circular motion, gathering along the way, to end up with this wonderful looking flower.

I just had to make sure it was staying centered as I was going round and round. Fun to do and didn't take long. Something similar to this on Pinterest but stiffer satin ribbon and pleating was done in that picture.
Thanks peafarm, I'll have to have a look, I'm always looking for new ideas.
