This is a cd mug rug designed by spendlove. I wanted to do some Christmas things to give to the elderly ladies in my mums care home. All these ladies have some sort of dementia and alhziemers. Many of them don't have any visitors and I am going to make lots of Christmas gifts for them. After I have made a few more of these mug rugs I will make dolly bags with Christmas chocs and sweets in. I am so pleased with these Santa mug rugs.

Everyone will love them. In my Mom's home the dementia ladies love their dolls also. Once , I walked a by a lady parked in the hall along with about 10 other ladies and she said "I love your amber jewelry". I had on a necklace and matching earrings. Turns out, that she and her husband had owned a jewelry store in Florida and he died and she came up to Tennessee to visit some relatives and she got so bad they had to put her in the convalescent home. She told me she did not get a chance to go back and get her lovely jewelry. I was almost in tears. Even with her dementia , she still knew her jewelry. Kay

Oh my goodness. So sad. Someone should of done this for her. My Mom always likes to get her jewelry out and browse through it. She doesn't wear it any more but still likes to look.

I know the ladies will be very pleased. I use to love visiting my MIL at the nursing home and taking her chocolate and soft drinks. Anything that you do to show them attention they love. What a nice gesture. You will truly be blessed!!!

I use to hate going to the home it was awful seeing my lovely mum in there but I decide it was no use wishing things were different I made a conscious effort to get to know all the other ladies and staff and we now talk a load of twaddle but we also have a laugh and fun. I look at them and think 'there but for the grace of god'

Yes the old cd is added to the back to give it stability and then the last couple of steps cover the cd completely . I would recommend everybody tries it they really are simply to do and are very effective just sitting on the coffeetable
