I'm doing a happy dance. Yesterday I commented under pldc (Loralye"s) post re her machine and discovering she used the wrong needle plate. I was distraught because my Bro dealer/repairman had told me by phone that the Brother co. had informed him the part I needed for my Babylock was no longer available. I searched all day for after market, used, abused..and went to bed so sad that my fave machine's funeral was forthcoming. This morning, one more try. Two clicks and the part-new-was in my face! I called the repairman & asked him to look at the site. He said, "that's what we need"! He also said I should order as Brother didn't like them to open other accounts. So it is ordered--priority mail--and I will drive 160 mi round trip. But this is my message to all you ladies..."never give up".

Well done awesome one! I too never give up and this is one of my favourite images of just doing that. Where did you eventually find your piece of machinery? Love Chris

Hi Chris--I found the lower shaft gear at mysewingmachineparts.com . Firefox/Google did not offer me that option, but Google Chrome on another computer gave it to me the next morning. I asked the repair person (as we both looked at the site) if that price looked about right and he said "yes, for retail". However, I suspect it was a bit less than I might have pd Brother--especially as it was $3 off when I ordered. I've b'mkd the link for future needs.

You see - one should never give up, although easier said than done sometimes.
