This is my first trial run with my new toy Janome 500E.

I picked it up on Tuesday afternoon had Doctors appointments most of Wednesday out and about yesterday. Today is the first full day at home and it is raining so decided I had read enough time to try it. Still have heaps to learn. I can't seem to get the auto needle threader to work for me but that is no problem as I can go to the shop anytime and be shown how to do it. Funny thing is now I think about it the lady demonstrating couldn't do it either. But I really need this my eyes don't like threading needles. Can't think where I bought the bike design from will have to look it up. Words are my own. I used a sort of canvas very light weight but heavier than calico. It was the first scrap I found. I used the largest hoop 7.9 inches x11 inches and still had room to spare. Thanks for looking.
Found the design of the bike it is from ABC Embroidery designs called Keep on riding, I just changed the words.

Yes I am lucky my Cousin asks for me to do things for her friends which they pay me for. I do not charge them anywhere near what they would pay someone else to do it for. But I make a bit of pocket money that way and it goes into a special account that is what I use for my treats. That way I don't feel guilty.

Forgot to say it takes up a fair amount of space. I have it sitting on a table 60cm x90cm.

I know what you mean the first Embroidery machine I ever saw was about $4,000 and I thought boy would I love that but way out of reach. Then I got the 300E for $1400 and as you say saw people doing things on larger hoops and wanted to go bigger. I thought if I wait the price may jump up because our dollar is falling so fast.

Thank you I chose that design because it was simple all one colour. Not sure what I will do with it. My eldest son is one of my biggest fans and every time he comes asks to see what I have made. He rides a bike so may ask him whether he wants it and what we can do

It's a good looking machine! I'm glad that you are using it and getting such a wonderful stitchout. Those threaders rarely work for me.

Congratulations on the new machine. Great job on your project here and the needle threading is a matter of line up in right place you'll get it.
That was one of reasons I wanting a new machine was that and gee would be nice to embroider and nice if I had this hoop and that foot. I am still scoping things.

Thank you. My DH got it to work for me said I was being too gentle.
It is a very heavy machine to lift. I was shocked at the size of the box it came in.
