We will be in the upper 70's today, with no change of snow. Happy dance for me. I don't do well in cold weather. I just make a cocoon and hibernate.

It is just magic to wake up to something like this. We have only had it once. I guess you will be tired of it come end of winter. Hugs Shirley

no kidding our joke is 8 months of winter and 3 months of poor sledding lol
by snoukems 18 Oct 2015
I like the 8 months of winter and 3 months of poor sledding analogy... We haven't quite experienced that here yet since this will be our first winter in the Rockies foothills. We have only had three overnight freezes so far. I don't think it will be like our Western New York winters though. Much dryer here which will be a bit new to me. Keep warm!

Hi Carolyn, Our Country Women's Association in South Australia [and probably in the other Australian States], each year 'study' a different country. This year's country for study is Canada and in November we have a day called 'International Day', and so we try to eat, drink and dress-up as our Country for Study would. Soooo.... any ideas for me for Canada??? xxVicki. PS love your pictures.

Well in Nov. you will need winter hats, coats, boots etc. to keep you warm **
Here we eat what the rest of the world does but we also eat the moose, deer, etc. we hunt and kill and eat.some people get ***about this BUT **it is life in our bush.
Right now everyone is hunting partridge and eating them (they taste like chicken.) next will be the bear hunt and i hope they get lots there was one sitting on my corner for about an hour last week but to us that's no big deal they also live at our dump**no recycling here we have a big hole and dump it in **its funny sometimes the bears try to climb in your truck .hugs from the frozen chosen

Oh Caroline! It makes me sad that you hate winter :( As you get winter for so much of your year. I know I could not manage that much cold. My cranial cervical fusion from my skull and down to my C-4 means that cold feels like a brain freeze from too much ice cream, and it does not let up, until I wrap the heating pad or heated microwave bags with wheat or rice in them and get the area to warm up. If I lived there I would need a long extension cord so the heating pad could be on 24/7. Try to stay warm, glad your pantries have been filled. Hope you are blessed with good hunts so you can add even more to your freezers and pantries. Maybe we need to get you some battery operated socks or gloves to help keep you toasty warm. Though with -45 you likely need a full set of battery operated log johns. I will spare you from knowing just how mild my winters are in comparison. Just the thought of yours makes me shiver! Pam

Oh Pam so sorry you are so sick.No you would hate it here. What helps is it is a cold cold not a damp cold which chills you to the bone. Thanks for your lovely note hugs Carolyn
