If you have software when you bring the design up on your computer look for a place that lets you print it as if you were making a template and usually that will print out the colors for that particular design. I hhope this makes sense to you. I sort of figured this out by accident and know how to do it but not sure aboutt\"teaching " anyone else how but perhaps one of the computer savy cuties can .

Welcome Kit from Australia. I too cannot help you with your request but I agree with the others. I'd print off a copy of the actual design from the icon image off your computer. Do you have an embroidery design of something from this lady as I see she is a Children's book illustrator? I typed in her name on the computer and looked at all the books she has done and notice her threads are very muted. Can you use similar colours from the threads you already have? I see you say it's much harder not having a chart. I tend to use colours I want - I've never stuck to colours that are recommended. Anyway, I hope you have lots of answers here. Hi and welcome. Are you able to read the card in your computer/laptop? I usually just choose my own choice of colours but have found that if I am doing a design that I want to replicate I get the design up on my laptop and also in another window get the thread list. I have written out all the colour changes before now and choose the colours before I stitch if the computer is not too hand by the machine. This means there is a long row of threads waiting in a line waiting to be used. Hope my answer has been of some help to you.

I am another that often does not copy off a thread list as I like choosing my own colors, though recently after seeing messages like yours, I have started to print my thread charts for the designs that have many colors and complex shading in the design. If you can remember the site you purchased the design card from, they may have your purchase history recorded that you can then download. It is one of the things I look for when purchasing designs especially those with immediate downloads, as long as they are in business, I can go back and then download the thread charts if I feel I need them. Probably would be safer just to make a habit of downloading them all the time, but seems silly and a waste of time when I know that rarely, will I ever use them...but then a day will come I am making the same post as you! I have the colorcharts but do not know if I'm allowed to post them...can someone please advise me on this?

I am just going by the software I have (Pfaff 5D)...maybe this will help.
When I have a design on the screen it shows the colour sequence over to the right. When I click on the colour it tells me what brand of thread the designer used and what the colour number is. This should help if you note each colour. Also, there is a section where I have recorded all my threads, by brand and colour number...this takes some time. Anyway, if you don't have the exact colour number that the designer used then you can cross-reference it with your own supply. Hope this helps. Avis
