I made everyone (immediate family) a hankie with their initial on it for the funeral service. 10 in all. I used my grandmothers. I started out with a lovely satin frame but it was too much for me to continue this so I did squares. My bil's favorite colour was blue so I did white work on one end & the initials all in blue. My mil placed hers with a note in his pocket in the coffin. This is a Polish/Ukrainian tradition

When my mil passed away, we placed a pillow that I had made her that featured a pic of her and her brother when they were toddlers. She loved that pillow. My husband, children and I all signed the back and placed it in the coffin with her
