Projects for today, a lined ITH quilted bag with a diagonal zipper and a tiny companion to the patchwork bag from the other day. Here again I matched the patchwork to the center of the zipper instead of matching the sidelines and it turned out right on center.

The diagonal zipper is a nice design element. Nice little purses!

Nice bags now I must try the diagonal style bag too.The small one would be good for change

The diagonal zip was a test run, the next time I plan to add a motif or an initial to dress it up.

Very nice...so what did you decide...lined with no raw edges...or stitched together with machine finished seams?

It depends on the pattern. I have a couple of designs that do not sew the front and back together before adding the lining piece and that leaves an open seam on the OUTSIDE of the bag which then has to be sewed together by hand. To me that looks tacky. If the pattern is properly constructed then I like lined better. I have figured out if I go back and restitch one of the earlier steps I can alleviate this problem. But I feel sorry for someone who is a novice if they get a pattern like this on their first try. I don't want to say which bags have this problem but I know of at least two that do.

Congratulations, they are well done. I love your fabrics. I like diagonal style bag but wait when you add a motif or an initial to dress it up.

Very nice. Love the way the diagonal zipper changes the look--still room for a design, monogram etc.
