Have any of you U.S. A. Cuties ordered anything on E-Bay that ships from China? I was wondering if there was any additional charge(s) for customs...I am looking to order Kam Snaps...under $20.00...shipping is free...but there is a note about potential charges incurred for customs...any help or suggestions? Thanks!

I have bought a few things from China - none of which had a special charge - the only draw back is somethings take weeks to ship. :)

I am in the UK and have bought from Chinese sites on eBay. Spendlove does too. If I buy from the States then there is import duty if I order over a set amount. Each country has different taxes etc. I have only spent small amounts from abroad and haven't paid duty but a friend bought a huge amount of thread and paid duty. If you look on google or similar I expect you will find out more

I have also ordered from china off ebay- assorted beads, jewelry, watches, buttons and cabinet door pulls, We have never had additional shipping charges. I have had some of the bead packages opened and resealed to verify they were the items listed and even once had a call about the cabinet pulls asking my husband what was the package contents- and how they were generally packaged and what they were made of etc. We have had following cabinet door pull shipments from the same supplier without any issues and no extra custom charges either. They still arrived quickly- much faster than the company had stated. Usually a week to 10 days with only the one bead shipper where it was close to a month, but still within their estimated time to arrive. Hope you are as happy with your order as we have been with ours.

My only issue with ordering direct from China is the time it takes to get here.

I order things over Ebay from China every now and then. Most of it has been under 20USD and I have not paid any customs or other fees.

Hi, I ordered by Kam snaps set from China off of ebay , rhinestones and I just ordered a piping foot all with great savings to me , with no extra charges. I can't believe I never even had to pay mailing charges. Does it change from country to country this I don't know, I am in Canada.

that' a bad idea to order from a foreign country. Figure in more expenses--one to pay for it. a fee to have enter the US and shipping. I did that once and ended up paying $20 for a $2 item. Also bought a serger t he sane way, Try to get it fixed it somthing happens to it. Not going to happen-you're on you own for that one.
fontmomma- I would agree with you if we were not talking about purchases made off eBay. Ebay has protection for both the seller and the buyer and if you have any issues, there is a guarantee, so if the product is not as it should be, or it does not arrive, you are given your money back if the company does not correct the situation. The seller also is protected against people who click to purchase an item or bid on auctions and then fail to pay in a timely manner. Hope you continue to have good service from your serger and if you do ever need a repair I hope that you can have it serviced close to home. Pam

Thanks, Cuties for all of your help...I did find a dealer in the USA with free shipping...500 sets, 10 different colors for under $15.00...after all said and done, I should have by November 2nd and the price was just about what I would have paid for them to come from China...
