Now I am happy with the end result. First I tried to make the back larger but my machine would not allow it so I made the front smaller to match the dimensions of the back. Now the two pieces go together with no unsightly stitching along the edge. I also quilted the pocket piece with a design from my files. Practise make perfect!

very pretty. I like this color combo and agree with you that the quilting on the back pocket adds a nice look. I couldn't see what you were talking about with the size differences on the other bag, but on this one... it's perfect.

The outline stitching that went around the quilting design showed along the outside seams on the original and that bothered me. I felt that it should have been hidden in the seam. So now on this one it is. I know that I am just being picky but that is just me. I sewed professionally for many years and everything I did had to be top notch. Old habits die hard.
