I use Embird which is a doddle for cross-stitch, but I haven't tried anything else for comparison.

I use 6D which is very easy to use and I tried out the Embird cross stitch module as well. Worked just as easy, but as I already had 6D I did not buy that one.

My Janome MBX has a built in cross stitch program...it works well and I am sure that there may be some programs that have more or different features, but I don't have any other to compare it to...sorry, not much help here...
