my dear granddaughter call me the other day and asked if i can make her a dress for the Prom.. 3 days later here it is.. the Prom is Saturday ..I hope she likes it.. not real low cut since it is a Christian High School.. and just above the knee.. I hate putting in zippers and I struggled with it all morning.. basted by hand first.. then sewing it in on the machine.. three layers on the skirt.. over, lining and the slip..

It is wonderful--Never made one from a pattern but have hemmed formals and I absolutely hate that sheer and slinky fabric. Won't do it anymore--for anyone! I love the color and am sure your granddaughter will love it.

The sheer happiness on her face will always be remembered by you and she will always remember that her grandma made her gown and how special she felt. So glad you were able to accomplish it in time. 3 days notice is not much if there would have been any problems. Glad you were able to figure out how to manage the multiple layers while putting in the zipper. She looked radiant! Good Job Grandma!!
