Questioning copyright laws, and also the question of whether something is a derivative work (one which imitates) or a transformative work (altering with meaning) should take a look at the link below. There is no judgement given, just a warning that those who go to the trouble of copyrighting aspects of their brands take it very seriously.

And this is only one instance. I know of a hairdresser who had, many years ago, painted Mickey Mouse on a wall in a back room. Disney found out, I have no idea how, and she had to paint over it or lose her shop. We cannot be too careful about copyright infringement. I hope ALL Cuties read this Post and the Terms and Conditions.
